So I guess when you break guarantee and you end up flying 100+ hours you take home a pretty penny compared to your usual month since they start paying you time and a half I assume, but, if you're on reserve, how on earth are you able to fly that much? Are there any other reasons besides line holders getting sick and staying home that you would be called in?
Thanks to everyone for your answers. A lot of us who are about to enter this hell hole know nothing about this until we ask

Anything you can think of really. Mx test flights, Mx repo flights (for heavy checks, or a broken airplane somewhere), a crew has rest, duty or flight time issues. It really is anything that can go wrong a reserve will fill in.
At 9E we did not get 150% unless they JM us. The highest I ever saw was 93 hrs once. Thats pay, flew about 65-70 that month.
