Please keep in mind that NWA management is being very vague about what is going to happen to the DC-9s. If they park a bunch of them, then people like me will be flowing back to Captains positions at Compass. Management has said that the growth in A330's, B787's, and B757 plus retirements should alliviate the need to furlough, but who knows. Remember this is an organization (NWA and Compass) that either can't plan ahead more that a day in advance or they have a plan and just won't tell anyone. I believe the former is true since they are decreasing some DC9 flying next month because there aren't enough crews. Yet there are 600 pilots still sitting on furlough.
My advice to anyone thinking that there will be quick upgrades at Compass and who has a good job now, wait until you see how this company works. If it works anything like NWA, you best get a cushy job flying Caravans for Fedex or someone like that. It's just not worth the frustration and dealing with the incompetence.
Best of Luck.
