Good on you for checking the FFDO creds, however D2 pilots (AA and AE) in uniform are not required to make a visit to the cockpit, if that's what you are referring to. Otherwise it is still a courtesy.
True dat, but I always ask if I can get a ride even sitting in the back w/my wife. And I always say thank you. Just me though.
