So if you commute you will be living in a crashpad for a good portion of the month. Even if you do get overnights the hotels at RAH are an eye opening experience so either way you will be miserable.
2. At the outstations which are most of the bases, every trip will begin at 0515 on the first day and end at 2345 on the final. Enjoy commuting for that.
3. The FA's are probably some of the worst in the industry. They will constantly disrespect the CA and FO to their face, use slang and make political announcements on the PA. You also need to expect them to fabricate wildly false stories about you and go to the company with the lies to try and get you in trouble. Beware, one of them actually started the APU and powered up the entire aircraft followed by an attempted engine start on the 170.
Enjoy "Q day" on July 25.
1. Actually, the hotels at RAH are a great deal better than the ones at my last airline. You should talk to 9E pilots about crappy hotels.
2. Definitely true but that's why the outstations are so junior. I'll never understand why so many senior captains think its the great life. Especially the PIT guys which drive up to two hours away. Once the new FTDT rules take effect, I'm not sure they will be staying open for very long as somewhere between 70-90% of their trips will be illegal (particularly their day trips).
3. Haven't really run into it. For the most part the FAs are great on the 170 but there are always exceptions. I can think of only about 4 that I have problems with and nothing as serious as what you stated. Considering my last airline hired FAs off of Craigslist...
Honestly, there are a lot of things wrong with this airline that could be improved but if you come from another airline, you will understand that its pretty normal at the regional level. That being said its still a crap fest and you will probably have better qol at Skywest or Expressjet.
