The 319 lands "harder" because it runs out of airspeed when its landing at a light weight. At heavy weights it has enough momentum not to need more speed.
So, couldn't you just fly w/ auto-throttles off and keep the power in longer when you're light (instead of letting "Pierre" go to idle at the same altitude no matter what weight you're landing at)?
