I doubt they are offering crap wages just because they want to listen to pilots complain about how little they are making. The reality is when SWA came on the scene they paid below industry standard. People who went to work for them stayed because they created a work place that all employees enjoyed. And in case you haven't looked at their pay scale lately, it isn't too bad. Skybus is offering an opportunity for pilots to enter on the ground floor of what could be a great company. Pay should follow success.
PAy is nothing like it was when Southwest came on the scene. Their wages look good because the rest of the industry was forced to come down to compete with them, its all going to happen again and South West is going to have to drop wages to do it as well. Its a vicious circle and everyone is just standing here watching it go around clapping and chanting about getting to fly big airplanes for low wages and It'll get better? It will get better for management! It will become standard for pilots.
There is a reason there are 30% fewer people getting into flying, there is a reason regional airlines are hiring people with drivers licenses. You can make more money cleaning someones teeth and be home everynight by 5:30 while paying less to train for it. Someone else can spell check me.
