I would bet that the company gets more then one year for a seat lock on the 175. Chip on the jumpseat said the other week that they want really high fences on the 175 for training costs, if you only put a one year seat lock guys will bounce back and forth between the two jets.
This is being discussed on the company boards...nobody has any interest in giving away a three-year lock. It might be fodder during pay negotiations, but it will be in the pilot's favor...if the company wants to change the status-quo, it will cost them something.
