Slow,
What happened to you? Necroposting for dishonest spin?
My comment related to "Officers" in your administration who told us that some civilian ALPA members had FAILED to respect he chain of command in our union. You know my comment had nothing to do with the well qualified pool of candidates which come from our armed services.
You may think you are so smart that no need exists for democratic governance in ALPA and I'll grant, you are a smart man. But at the end of the day ALPA needs the support of it's members. Having nearly 50% of your pilots send in cards requesting a representational vote while your Admin achieved an industry leading contract with scope improvements is a commentary you should heed. Instead you waste your efforts trying to personalize your frustrations by targeting reformists who support our union.
You are a smart guy. Eventually you'll step outside the echo chamber and get a wind check.
As the Pinnacle debacle is understood by express pilots as the cause of their concessions it will be very difficult for the leadership who authorized that bargaining to remain in power.
ALPA needs a strong leader, as it has, to get through a major merger and the other issues we face as a profession. No need to waste ammo firing inside the circle.
My guess based on comments by line pilots is that DPA has greater support is among those with a military background than civilian. Civilians are more reform minded and desire a more participatory, responsive, association (moves our both our former and current Admin have been moving in). Either way it boils down to members who desire change, even in good times.
I will yield the floor to you to explain your targeting solution. Alienate enough of our union's supporters and where does that take us .... ? Now you're trying to involve them in your fight against ALPA supporters before they are even on our property? What does that achieve?
