Flying on a DAL 737 (ICT-ATL) where I can see the engines. I notice mx putting in oil. During the entire flight, I notice a nice brown streak running down the side of the engine. I contact the FA. She says, "nothing to worry about", I tell her I'm a pilot and that leaking oil is usually not a good thing". Her response - "do you fly a 737?" I kinda kept quiet after that, but a "I'll let the CA know, or yes we are aware and are monitoring" would have gone a lot further for customer service.
Was it a 737-200? If it was leaking, you were OK. It was when of course it stopped that you should have been worrying.

Please, tip your waitress and try the corned beef.
