I was in school full time and was offered a job towing banners on a promise I would get my COMM license, which I did. So technically I was getting work from that time. There are (low end) jobs out there to be had, you just have to go find them. Be that as it may, reasonably well paid flying jobs are non-existent at the low end because of all the competition, and to date never found a fair-paid flying job according to mainstream metrics. Reasonable middle class pay for pilots seems to come only after many years of dues paying.
