However, NWA's requirements were not identical to Delta's prior to the merger. Competitive at NWA might have included a degree, but it my understanding that a degree was not "required." That's why some do not have it.
True, but only to a very limited extent. If you had "ordinary time", then the 4 year (or more) was, in practice, required.
If you had "awesome time", like 12,000 TT and 8,000 PIC in the DC-10 or 747 flying the Pacific, then you MIGHT have gotten a pass. But the number of those guys is darn few.
