Southwest = some of the best compensated employees in the business and they make money hand over fist. Colgan had some of the worst compensated employees in the business and well...where are they now? Effective and efficient leadership is the multiplier that has a far greater impact on the bottom line than your or my paycheck. That is really about all there is too it. Until now, labor has been the low hanging fruit. It's been far easier to divide, conquer and beat us down than to make any meaningful gains to the overall efficiency of the operation. I hope that is starting to change
