I believe they were talking about flows. While a majority of pilots are great, a few slip through. The thing with a flow is it is a job not earned through the traditional interview sense. Compass interview was set up as a NWA interview for the purposes of going to NWA. Delta took over and will honor that. As for Mesaba, I have no idea what their interview was, but it couldn't be too much different than any other regional interview.
The 2-day Delta interview is the best way to weed out the bad ones. The ones bypassing that 2-day process have a higher chance of slipping a bad personality through the cracks.
