I completely agree. There are many factors that can cause a poor GPA, mine was I lost my mentor and hero. I have two degrees, for my freshman and half of my sophomore years I held a 3.4 GPA. My father died and my grades fell causing me to graduate with a 2.42 (C- student) after 5 years. I had several D's. SkyWest did asked to see my transcripts but I was ready and willing to present them (they didn't care if they were sealed or not). Regardless of my GPA I am proud that I hung in there and graduated. I can’t say I regret my GPA giving my circumstances but the fact is it taught me an invaluable life lesson. Since graduating I’ve excelled in both my first and second careers. I've never repeated a lesson, stage check or check ride and my lowest test grade including all my tests at SkyWest was a 96.
By no means is a person's GPA an accurate indicator of their aptitude.
I agree with you and I'd be proud, too, if I stuck it out through all of that.
But how are you gonna sell that to Delta?
