I printed out a copy of the latest MEC Update about the TAJV and discussed it with the Reps and the committee member. I was asked by the FO Rep if I thought any of it was "spin" and I said yes, I thought there were 2 places and I showed him where. I contended that where it said "the Delta pilots have maintained their "fair share" of the work" was one of them. Sounds like the codeshare committee is defining "fair share" from the past, as in before Alitalia vs after Alitalia joined on the AF/KLM side. (I didn't see any numbers but supposedly we are up to the amount of JV flying we were doing before Alitalia.) My contention was no, we are not maintaining our fair share. Our fair share is contractually defined. I also thought that sentence about growth beyond our fair share which didn't occur was over the top.
Talked about a few other things like the 316 NRT departures. No discussions/negotiations have taken place yet.
I got the distinct impression from all the reps that they were not getting very much input from the line pilot and would like a lot more.
I would highly recommend going if there is ever one in your area. Hey, what pilot doesn't like free beer, free food and free parking!!

(Yeah, Yeah, I know it's all paid with dues money but, hey, no out of pocket expenses!)

So you went to the PUB great. No sales job either right?
You said you talked to Art and Sam M the CS Committee Chairman. You say that Sam was defending the fair share, and then state that is what is in the PWA. Did any of the color these two pilot gave you help you gain some perspective on what is going on? Did they answer or quell any concerns you had about what you thought was going on in these JV's?
I went to a training PUB a month or so ago and it was not a sales job at all. It was more about answering questions and clearing up any misconceptions anyone may have had.
If they did a good job at anything or helped answer questions or concerns you can admit that too Denny.
