That's surprising that he would consider himself "recalled" to LUAL (by wearing LUAL wings) upon accepting a position at LCAL. Most do not consider themselves recalled, therefore they wear LCAL wings. Maybe he was unclear on the concept or he wasn't given or didn't have LCAL wings to wear.
Maybe its because they give you 1 set of wings and you have to choose to wear it on your shirt or coat as they hand them to your from a plastic bag. Very different from how they were presented to you at UAL.
