Upgrade at PSA is a week of ground, maybe 6 sims total then IOE. You can get an FO to CA under a month easily.
Who knows what's happening. We all will find out shortly. USairways mgt team seems to be ok with wholly owns. They've kept them around for a reason. They have direct control and if things go south can reduce block hours etc as they desire with no contractual obligations of a FFD contract. With USairways mgt keeping the power I'm unsure if their mindset will change after a merger.
I do understand your point. And agree with your statement. So you guys do have a short upgrade training. Like you said they have a plan. They will have X amount of 50 seaters and X amount of 65 seaters and X amount 76 seaters. They are just going to shuffle around assets but what they are focusing on is that as they transition to larger aircraft pilot pay is not increased but to their wish decreased.
US Airways mentioned a few months ago that their intention was to re fleet their regionals, but that they couldn't guarantee airplanes the first time around to the regionals who were willing to take cuts. This was right after PSA and PDT signed a contract and Eagle was in the midst of implementing the concessions. Right after PSA hey will go to PDT and Eagle regardless of what PSA votes.
