I'll have to take a closer look at the APS. I was under the impression that the flap setting is not selectable. Weights, runways, etc., can drive the APS to give a different flap setting in the output, but I was not aware that the setting is pilot-selectable as an input. If it is, I am mistaken.
(Having just finished I/T/U and IOE, I probably shouldn't make such a public confession. I'll take a look on my Validation Ride tomorrow.)
