Yes, because EVERYONE in the US wants to become an airline pilot. Sad that most kids today and many adults can't do basic arithmetic without whipping out their Iphone, etc. or have a cash register telling them how much change to give. Back in the stone ages, one needed to have that skill. Why not teach children mathematical skills that will help them in everyday life such as balancing a checkbook, managing their finances, investing, etc.?

Sorry, but I still find it incredibly mind-boggling and pathetic that supposedly educated people in ALL walks of life can't spell or form a sentence without glaring errors.
