The SSP allows Delta to wind down Pinnacle without wasting hundreds of millions of dollars like they did with Comair. Instead of furloughing pilots at Endeavor, they will be hired at Delta. This prevents Delta from paying for Training displacements and boosts efficiency by not having 9E sit fat on pilots. This savings is not only at Pinnace, but has to matched in the form of rate resets at the other DCI carriers.

All told, this Endeavor deal should save Delta over $1 billion on DCI costs. Lee Moak got played IMHO, unless he came up with the idea for management.
