I don't doubt that Delta hasn't done a pretty good job hiring pilots over the years. However Delta didn't hire any of the Compass pilots, any of the Mesaba pilots, any of the NorthWest pilots (or Republic/Hughes) or Western pilots or Pan Am pilots. In the end, what is the difference? I doubt the Delta hiring process is any better than any other airline at weeding out the odd balls.
