I know there's been a lot of talk about Pierce being the puppet master who manipulated the JCBA negotiations for our SLI benefit. Maybe that's true to an extent (I honestly don't know), but Pierce has been playing checkers while Jeff Smisek was playing chess. Ignore him at your peril.
I don't think JP is a puppet master but more a puppet. Never underestimated Jeff at all - he's controlled JP from day one. The sub-standard contract you refer to, is that, but had the UAL side not voted it in the whip-sawing would have continued. At least we all suffer the same pain under the same contract. Could be an incentive to pay attention next time and not allow your elected leaders make your decisions for you. Jeff choose CAL as the whip because of history and he knew JP would go along with him.

Just as reference this contract did more to help the CAL side. It brought you guys up to the industry standard and will give you a better QOL. You're welcome.
