OK how long will UAL keep the 747-400?

Right now the official tentative fleet plan is to begin -400 retirements in 2018. That's less than five years.

And the latest rumor is a -400 pilot base east of the Mississippi river sometime in the fall or early 2014, possibly EWR. Got to love rumors.
