Any DL or UA guys reading this? Did you guys have a lot of flying time moved around before your SLI? I seem to remember someone saying DL moved the A330s around. Did they base crews in the other sides bases?
United did. They still don't have the SLI done, yet have former-CAL 737 bases in ORD, DEN, and their original 4 CAL bases. Not sure about redistribution of the former-UAL assets. I've seen a bunch of f-UAL Airbusses in IAH, but don't know if they're based there or just passing through.

Interestingly, Parker has referenced "right-sizing" a/c to routes "immediately" following the POR, as recently as last month at the IATA conference in Cape Town.

Even more interestingly, if you put together various speeches made by Horton, Parker, Kirby, et al, you can come up with some interesting combinations of flying, right away ("right-sizing").

1.) US A-319's doing northern South America/Central America/Caribbean from MIA
2.) AA 737NG doing trans-cons and some former 737-400 routes out of CLT
3.) AA 777s doing some of the cargo-heavy routes (TLV, FCO, MXP) out of PHL
4.) US 330's doing some of the deep South America out of DFW (lighter loads than a 777)

How much of that will come to pass? Who knows... Maybe some, maybe all, or maybe none (right away). But, one thing is for sure -- these guys are good at deploying assets in the right markets to maximize profit. So, we can bet on some kind of change. (And keep speculating on the internet...)
