I think it's interesting that this is how delta pilots and mgt treat regionals. It is apparent why dl's product suffers at the regional level. I can see why DCI pilots don't care one way or another about their pax. Not how I'd treat those taking care of my customers.
It's not unique to DAL/DCI, it's just the (de)evolution of the relationship between a legacy carrier and outsourced/lowest bidder feed they choose to go with.
I'd say that UAL/UAX is worse in that regard than DAL/DCI.
The point made previous is the truth though, even though some may choose to ignore it. The cheapest (crappiest) feed helps to keep the profits/least possible loss.
So whilst a mainline employee may feel smart/educated in being critical of an outsourced feeder's substandard performance, they're simply getting what legacy management paid for.
It's is truly getting tested of how crappy a pizza can be before people stop eating it
