How about privileges for the military pilots who for the last 13 years have been deployed all over the Middle East fighting a war in Iraq and Afghanistan separated from our families and now being hit by sequestration. Also, all the alert missions we now fly providing air defense and escort here over our 48 states. I was in pilot training on 9/11 and have been part of both wars ever since.

Seriously, I don't feel like I deserve an interview over anyone else military or civilian. I signed up knowing what my job could entail. I think we should just all fill out our applications as accurately as we can and let our job experience speak for itself.

Do I want a job with Delta Air Lines? You bet your butt! My dad has flown for them since 1985 and my mother has been a flight attendant since 1996. I want to be part of the Delta Family as much as the next guy. Do I get a guarnteed interview, no, and that is fine. All 10,000 of us applicants have paid our dues ten fold some way or another. Hopefully the most qualified pilot for the job gets it and soon we will all have our chance.

Hopefully we can look past the entitlement issue and just be happy for the guy who gets the interview on their merit and just keep hoping we get the email too.

Cheers
Absolutely military veterans deserve favoritism in getting hired. Delta already has a great track record on this. It should always be that way IMHO.
