Another problem is the mil days available are dwindling rapidly. With the current fiscal environment, I don't see it getting better anytime soon. I know my plan, if I'm lucky enough to get hired, would to NOT be taking any significant mil leave. Being a part time flyer in the ANG is the best job out there, why ruin it by going full time! Sure I'll take a paycut for the first few years but after that, airline pay will quickly outpace my mil pay.
