No, it's not the same! It's a
RESTRICTED ATP! In my opinion having restricted written all over your license is worse than a Commercial ticket! Next accident, mark my words, the lawyers will have a Hay Day with this! It's a total liability for Airlines to hire pilots with RESTRICTED written on their ticket! I don't care what kind of bullsh!t frosting the FAA, Colleges or the Airlines put on it, it's simply an inferior "restricted" license and it implies something less than the professional Airline Transport Pilot or Commercial Pilot for that matter! The fact is, one is either an ATP or one is not!
