I don't think weight lifting is bad for pilots to do. However, while whey is fine I'm sure, I would try to steer clear of supplements. It seems like most of that stuff is engineered to make a person big or "look good". I believe that a pilot should be in good shape and to get that cardio and strength training are the way to go.
