That would mean no one senior to him flew enough to get into bucket 2! So what if he's at the end of the list after only working 7 days???? That means the guys who didn't get into bucket 2 flew less or none. Does it really pain a senior guy that they may have to fly, but end up not flying?

GG,
First off, I don't think we are too far apart. I do not - repeat, do not want a system that enables the senior guy to routinely take a month off if the junior guy is working his butt off.
I don't mind a system where the senior guy gets an easier month (RAW 15) and the junior guy gets an easy month (7 days working, bucket 2 from the above example).
Are you saying its not fair that the senior guy gets a very easy month and the junior guy only gets an easy month?
Secondly, I hope this will shortly become a mostly academic argument as continuous movement starts (after being stalled at the bottom half of the list for 12 years) and no one stays junior on reserve more than a month or two in the NB FO position, which is really the only positions system-wide where being junior is not a choice.
