Well the thing is for me, I live in a base (SEA) and I got pushed out the bottom and now commute again. I could move, but then I'd have to commute to my second job which is here in SEA. Mix in all the family and house stuff, it's not worth it to move for the short term (I hope it is short). So I commute! Hopefully in the next 5-7 years I will be able to drive to work for my last 5-7 years here at Big "D".

Now one thing that kills me is there are 4 guys I have met the last couple of months that commute from SLC to SEA. Three guys could fly the same equipment in SLC as SEA and the other just did not want to be a 320 Capt anymore, so being a commuting 330 FO was a better life? I don't know their full life story, maybe not happy at home so that extra night or two away is great, but I hate that. I am about QOL and hate to commute, but do it with the hope of it being short term. Now if it continues to not be short term, this is not the only job out there. Mind you it is a good job, but not one I'm willing to lose QOL over. (Money is great, but family means more.)
