I don't think MOST regional pilots came from international flight departments. Most came from flight schools. There aren't many pilots who would leave a 120k + a year to go back to 25k a year at a regional. JetBlue on the other hand has quite a few pilots that came from heavy international flight departments. I also don't think JB pilots are necessarily more or less experience than the average regional pilot, the industry has been relatively stagnet for so long that many good pilots with great levels of experience have gotten stuck at the regionals.
