Absolutely I agree - no brief = unsafe but briefing to the point and no longer than a minute = perfect.
No sure why the thx on the 7 months but like I said it used to happen a lot some time ago. I don't think your stare would have bothered most of these guys, it was the time frame they were brought up.
As far as the long brief that I asked about or over brief that was my point, seems like we have gone way over board trying to cover everything just for the attorneys.
