Default setting up your future early on

Hi everyone,

This is my first ever post here but I have been reading these forums for a couple of years now. There area lot of mixed views about this career and I'm trying to find a way of my own to make it work for myself. I currently work for a regional airline flying a turboprop based at home with an upgrade somewhere in the next 1-2 years after being here for almost 2 years, and like everyone I want to get to a legacy and feel that sense of security and start making a livable wage. We all know how bad regional FO pay is especially with student loan payments and being in my mid 20's and looking to get married I just can't seem to see it working out.

So in the meantime I've been working on getting my real estate license and started working with a diamond wholesaler selling diamonds but it's a slow start which I'm sure will pay off just like aviation, yet I see those things paying off much faster if I was able to put more time and effort into them.

So I was wondering if some of you on here could tell me how you made it through these low paying years in the industry and if you have any suggestions as to how to work in a second career while flying.
