So much for the "brotherhood" of a union or those who want to run it or determine its priorities...
This is almost not worth addressing. Just because we work for the same airline does not make us equal in all cases. What you fail to realize is your goal is to have my seniority and eventually you will. The benefits you receive at that point are based on what we negotiate now. You should not strive to fly the smallest aircraft with the least pay. You should strive to fly the aircraft with the most pay. The fact that an aircraft shares a type rating with another does not preclude it from making more or paying more.
I have a better schedule because I am more senior. We should negotiate a higher pay rate for an aircraft with 40 extra seats. We get paid less for flying an aircraft that has 50 less seats. We may eventually have as many 321's as we do 320's. None of us know.
STOP BUYING INTO FORD/HARRISON/JETBLUE SPIN.
The pay rates and benefits we negotiate now are what you will receive later in your career. Read the 10K reports when they come out. Jetblue is not in financial danger and the CASM gap is not closing as they suggest. Research the info on your own.
We are a brotherhood of pilots at jetblue but we are not all equal. Some are more junior, others more senior. Seniority should be rewarded.
Your argument for flying a larger aircraft for the same as a smaller is a management tactic. Why not fly the 190 for the same price as the 320?
Jetblue cherry picks "industry standard" to suit its needs. There is not a single item in your PEA or 5 documents that is industry standard.
It's simple. The aircraft makes more it should pay more. You deserve more.
