My opinion only but can the entire CALMEC and start fresh in a new direction. Be it CAL or UAL.

Keep effective committee structure the same unless they are scabs.

The MEC will be controlled by L-UAL but there will be no "retribution".
After SLI we will all be UAL pilots going forward.
