Southerner, it is easy to confuse passion for thuggery on here because you can't hear inflection in the written word. Most of our guys are great and want nothing more than to work for a strong company. We have had a lot taken from us over the years so guys will latch on to anything.
A CBA is the only way out of this mess.
I hear you. I've yet to run into anyone out flying who is a jerk. Sure, we may differ a bit on the solution, but we all can agree that things can improve.
As someone with dealings with ALPA national, it is my opinion we don't want them. Why is Delta trying to get rid of them? Think about it. I'm a NO vote for ALPA. Plain and simple. I do think a CBA would fix some things, but I'm just not going to vote yes to them. Ever. Period.
I wavered a bit on this, and I almost changed my mind, but I've come back to my original position.
So, someone start a drive for in- house. I'll support it. I'm not a fan on unions in general, but I will support in- house. I think an in-house would win this time around. By leaps and bounds. Most captains I fly with would vote yes to in-house.
