Perhaps "dragged" was a poor choice of words on my part. I should have said "persuaded."
Good leadership will identify and motivate guys who are a good fit. And yes, there is still a place for leadership on the company's part.
I've flown with several LCAs who swore they would never do it. But when approached and mentored, they eventually accepted the position. To me, those guys generally have a better perspective than the folks begging for the job.
