ExpressJet was barely able to make money in the 2nd quarter of this year and is losing money the rest of the year.

ExpressJet is dragging down the profitability of SkyWest Inc.

We are still in JCBA negotiations for over 3 years now and our latest offer by management includes "significant financial concessions."

Our contract with Delta includes a rate reset coming up in 2015 - once this goes through we will really start to hemorrhage money. Delta has said that "it will be able to cut costs dramatically by 2017 with contract clauses allowing it to reset rates at its regional feeders to match its 2nd lowest contract"

Both pilot groups are adamantly opposed to any sort of paycut or QOL cut.


My prediction is that in 2-3 years, unless there really is a pilot shortage (j/k), ExpressJet will go under and its pilots that want to stay will be offered preferential employment with SkyWest Airlines.

But that's just me.
