I heard a lot of the same from fo's at usair that said they turned down ups because they didn't like working for a trucking company. With all the people that turned ups down, I'm surprised they had enough left to start an airline.

Given the number they hired and trained between 88 and 91 that quit and moved on they could have started two airlines . When the IPA was voted in there where 762 pilots on the property , rumor has it that they hired and trained close to 1400 to that point. The attrition rate was impressive.
