There's absolutely no reason for SkyWest pilots to take any cuts because the overwhelming majority of Inc's 2nd quarter profit is from SkyWest Airlines. They have also been cost effective to receive new flying such as the E175s for United.
Not only should you not take any cuts, you should get industry leading compensation and work rules because of the reasons you mentioned and more. No excuses or rationalizations for anything less!

SKW has all the power and all the control. They theoretically, are the fat kid with the magnifying glass over the ant hill...When I was there though, it was a great experience and a great company to work for and with. They always seemed to want to help you, but the longer you were there, the more they took advantage.
It's a concession. But I'm sure the union would agree to current Skywest compensation and work rules if the merged all three pilot groups. But guess who is against that.
