I decided to go the QC15/ Uflymike setup. Around 500 bucks if you buy all new. I used a QC2 while I was flight instructing and it worked pretty good. Just make sure to always have spare batteries. I figured in the 121 world I would be using the headphones itself for deadheading and commuting so that is what made me pick this setup over the aviation x.

I really wanted to get the Bose Aviation X model as the few times I have borrowed one they seemed great and sturdy. It was very comfortable and value wise if you can find an excellent refurbished one for 400-500 dollars thats a great deal.

As for the 1100 dollar A20, I just can't get myself to fork out that much money even on a payment plan. I've tried the A20's on and they were definitely impressive but too rich for my blood.

btw if you are in the sept 2 class. I'll see you there! Have they made your travel/hotel arrangements yet? I haven't got any confirmation yet. I'll email tomorrow.
