Does anybody have an gouge on when they think the next new hire CRJ class will be. I was hired last month have asked to be put in the pool for a CRJ class. I currently live near MSP and Married with kids as well as a guard pilot, just couldnt swing flying the Bro on the west coast for a year. Just looking for some opinions on the training pipeline, and not on my decision to pass up Bro classes.
Here's the thing, though. While you wait hoping that you'll eventually get an RJ class, you will have at least 20-30 pilots a month getting ahead of you in seniority, including all the people that decided they can deal with commuting to the Brasilia for a year. Seniority is everything, just ask the people who came here hoping for a 9 month upgrade in 2007, who still have 100 people ahead of them for even the junior RJ bases.
SkyWest is cagey about training plans, and has been known to release seat locks when necessary. I was the beneficiary of that at one time myself. They still have to address how we're going to staff the 175, since everyone that wanted ORD pretty much got it, FO-wise, and we have 34 more aircraft coming. Not saying it is going to happen, but what are you going to do if we start hiring into the 175 instead, which will not have an MSP base?
