In the terminal environment, switching from the initial controller to the final controller... all that could be said is 'American 123, on frequency' because the initial controller told the final controller ... 'I am giving you American 123, HDG 090, 6000, speed 180.

You're required to state callsign, altitude passing and altitude assigned for a mode C check. No need for the heading and speed assigned unless asked to do so.
