If you strictly look at stovepipes, in 2010 everyone at CAL hired mid 2005 and later is a guppy FO or furloughed. That equates to a 1998 - 2008 UAL hire, or course some of those guys have 12 years longevity. Some less.

If you strictly go longevity, everyone hired 2007/2008 had 2-3 years. Most UAL furloughees had more longevity that this.

So the tradeoff is that they end up with pilots in a worse status and category (ie furloughed) but more longevity (5-7 years of active time only) and thats just a guess, not making a judgement either way about it.

We should know Tuesday.

No need to rant or rage, because this is only my guess since longevity was added to the policy.

Without that I would have guessed differently.
