The regional deals save Delta billions over the next ten+ years. He sees the regionals as a way to increase the bottom line of mainline, he hopes that money will then trickle down to mainline pilots, and eventually back into ALPA.
The conflict of interest in ALPA is that it is a business and not really a union.
