If I'm under 40 and I've had it under a year it is still valid. Do I have to go get another medical before the interview if I am outside of 6 months even tho my first class is still valid?
You are absolutely correct about the valid time period of the FAA First Class Medical. And that is totally irrelevant in this case.
When I interviewed at UA, they instructed us not to count
ANY PIC time from before completing flight training, including solo time. ***?? Utterly asinine, stupid, illogical etc. I mean, if I can't count solo time as PIC, then who was the PIC?? To this day, I can't understand why they did that, but they did. As was said earlier, they make the rules; all of them. Show them that you can follow their rules, all of them.
