That is a really dumb strategy. As the price to fly goes up, the demand for flying will go down and cost the industry pilot jobs. People will still get sick, but people don't need to fly (even more true on the routes that Great Lakes flies)
So sorry for being "dumb". I don't have an economics degree, but I do have over a decade of line flying experience and I believe that a slight rise in the price of tickets caused by paying pilots what they're worth isn't going to cause people to stop flying. I also believe that limiting the entrants to the industry will increase our bargaining power. That's an economic law, by the way, Professor. In fact, Nash won a Nobel on it. But I'm just a dumb pilot, what do I know?
