You could squeeze one in on paper with the 117 regs, but if the return flight gets delayed at all(which happens 99% of the time) then you turn into a pumpkin. I think jetblue will just make it into a crappy 3-day trip like I described above where you fly the 1st leg down to the DR, sit 24hrs, fly one leg back and get paid 10hrs for the 3days.

I wouldnt be surprised if some of the hybrid/LCCs start running augmented ops for transcon stuff. I think it would be difficult, logistically speaking, to get an augmented crew to work on a flight that is less than 4hrs to the Caribbean.
