It will work. Believe it or not, at times the PI/US merger was worse than this and that was without the internet. When guys start working together they realize we are really all the same and it gets better. Some never get over it,most do, the sane ones anyway.

I've flown with two west F/Os and both were extremely professional. The first was a pleasure, the second was a little standoffish, but did a good job and was a complete professional with a return to gate mechanical issue.
